Skullflower - The Black Iron That Has Fell From the Stars, To Dwell Within (Bear It or Be It)
(Nashazphone)

This is the sound of angels descending to Hell. These are very bad angels. They are dressed in black, smeared with blood, bile and brains. This is the sound of their tumultuous terror. It is a frightening, unholy swill of noise. My kinda noise. This is Skullflower. Formed in 1988, and scaring and deafening people ever since, this is their 33rd official album, their 2nd of 2017.
According to the runes, "The Black Iron..." marks the inception of an audio trilogy concerning the Darkness of Aegypt: the shadow stuff from whence dark dreams come. The Triad: dark, light and the animating serpent power are delineated by the Egyptian Gods Set, Horus, and the Apep serpent. Volume One comprises of three received transmissions from the tunnels of Set via the physical envelopes of Matthew Bower and Samantha Davies operating as the occult cell known as Skullflower. The working, the concept, and guiding hand comes from Nashazphone, purveyors of artifacts, dreams and koans, who are currently re-creating and re-writing the myths and cycles of their native land.
