His debut album Empire, for the always excellent, and always beautful Injazero label, conveys feelings of melancholia, joy, tension, wistfulness and darkened ambience while artfully navigating cinematic movements.
Utilizing piano, cello and violin, Emery constructs absolutely gorgeous pieces like the title track, which also features lush sweeping strings, and crystalline atmospheres like that heard on "Effervescent." Top quality! (Lee)
