Animal Collective - Hollinndagain

Originally conceived as their first live LP, Hollinndagain captures the nascent and primitive Animal Collective during their first few years as a live entity. Originally billed as Avey Tare and Panda Bear, Geologist joined  the duo for these performances as well as the forthcoming LP from 2002 Danse Manatee.  They were a burgeoning live force. With the exception of 1 track, Hollinndagain features songs completely exclusive to this LP thanks to the band scrapping proper recordings of these songs and relegating the set to lie only within these grooves - transforming it into what would be known as their 3rd LP. Stylistically, the trio was knee-deep in their mysterious impressionistic, wooded minimalism summoning rickety mantras that feel both comforting and chaotic. Recorded live on the WFMU airwaves and on stage during their jaunt with Black Dice, long out of print, and now available once more on the band’s My Animal Home imprint. (Dom)
